Explore all there is to know about SEK through our college student programs. Whether you're looking to connect with us at recruitment events, gain hands-on experience through internships, or dive deeper into the profession with our summer program, we offer multiple ways to discover what makes SEK a great place to jumpstart your career!
Internships
At SEK, interns don’t spend their time running errands or making coffee - they gain real, hands-on experience in public accounting. As a valued member of our team, you’ll get paid to work on real client engagements under the supervision of firm management, just like a first-year staff member. Our internship program helps students build confidence, develop professional skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the business environment - all while doing meaningful work that makes an impact.
We understand that balancing school, work, and life can be hectic. That’s why our internship experiences are designed to be flexible, working around your schedule. We offer three internship sessions throughout the year:
- Summer (May-August): 24-36 hours per week
- Fall (August-November): 20-30 hours per week
- Spring (December-March): 20-30 hours per week
To be considered for an internship, candidates should be an accounting major (college freshman-senior) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to excel in both individual and team projects.
You’ll walk away with valuable skills, a clearer career path, and maybe even a job offer! Are you a good fit?
On-Campus Visits
Throughout the year, SEK actively participates in on-campus recruiting events at various colleges and universities across Pennsylvania and Maryland. We would love for you to stop and chat with us at one of our upcoming visits listed below:

Client Testimonials
The internship at SEK has honestly been the best experience I could’ve asked for. Not only do you learn so much in a few short weeks, but you feel included. You feel like you are as much as an employee as everyone else in the firm. If there is ever a question you may have, everyone is there to help and work with you through it, no matter how busy they may be. I have learned far more than I anticipated and it has truly made me fall in love with my future career!

Former Spring Intern, Current SEK EmployeeMy internship with SEK has overall been very valuable and an excellent experience. The employees were all very friendly, patient, and always willing to answer any questions I had. This made learning how to do tax returns less intimidating, and even enjoyable. Their help not only came with the answer I was seeking, but also a smiling face that always made me feel welcomed and appreciated. The professional experience I was able to gain in the public accounting profession will be very valuable for my career and future. I would highly recommend doing an internship with SEK to anyone!

Former Spring InternMy internship at SEK has been an amazing experience. From the start, the staff have been available to answer any question, no matter how trivial or redundant. They are very patient and understanding of how difficult it can be to work in a professional setting for the first time. Along with the endless help you receive, you are also respected as a colleague. Lastly, SEK provides the valuable opportunity to work semi-independently on projects for actual clients that allows you to develop a deeper understanding of the field.

Former Spring Intern; Current SEK EmployeeI learned so much from my time interning at SEK and met so many great people. I was taking my Tax course the same time I was interning, which really pulled what I was learning in class and applied it to the tax returns I was working on in the office. I would recommend this internship to any accounting major.
