The Members are pleased to announce the following Manager, Supervisor, Senior Staff, and Marketing promotions effective January 1, 2025:
Promoted to Manager:
Kayla Alsahouri, CPA, promoted to Manager: With seven years of experience, Kayla provides audit and assurance services to clients across various industries, including nonprofits, affordable housing, and fintech. She plans and manages client engagements, builds strong client relationships, and supports her department’s growth by training and mentoring staff. Kayla is a member of the firm’s Audit Efficiency Task Force, which focuses on enhancing processes to benefit the Assurance & Advisory service line. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Information Systems with a minor in German and Administration of Justice from the University of Pittsburgh. Based in the Hagerstown office, Kayla is a Certified Public Accountant in Maryland and joined SEK in 2018. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband on the farm, tending to their sheep, goats, and chickens. She also loves exploring new restaurants with family and friends, antique shopping, and reading.
Aaron Althouse, CPA, promoted to Manager: Aaron specializes in tax compliance and planning services, financial statement preparation, and advisory services for closely held businesses in the construction and agriculture industries. He graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania. Prior to his education, Aaron served in the U.S. Air Force for four years as a firefighter. He joined SEK’s York office in 2019. Outside of work, Aaron serves in his local church’s children’s ministry. He enjoys camping and hiking with his family, woodworking, board games with friends and family, homesteading, and property improvements.
Lauren Frick, CPA, MBA, promoted to Manager: Lauren is a member of the Estate Administration & Compliance and Trust departments. With expertise in fiduciary tax compliance, probate administration, and providing tax services for individual clients and small businesses, Lauren has become a trusted advisor for attorneys and trust departments. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a Master of Business Administration from Frostburg State University. Lauren joined SEK’s Hagerstown office in 2014 and is a Certified Public Accountant in Maryland. She is working toward earning her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) credential. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys spending quality time with her husband and children, exploring the outdoors, taking trips to the beach, and staying active through fitness and weightlifting.
Cara Lowery, CPA, promoted to Manager: Cara provides tax preparation, projections, payroll, and business advisory services to individuals and closely held businesses, including several multi-state clients. In addition to her client work, Cara supervises and trains staff, fostering the growth and development of her team. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Shepherd University. Based in the Hagerstown office, Cara is a Certified Public Accountant in Maryland and joined the firm in 2017. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, watching and playing sports, and decorating and interior design.
Promoted to Supervisor:
C. Richard Keyser, II, CPA, promoted to Supervisor: Richard provides financial statement compilations and reviews, prepares tax returns, and assists clients with payroll tax credits and Research & Experimentation (R&E) tax credit calculations. He specializes in serving manufacturing, agriculture, and transportation clients. A cum laude graduate of Penn State University, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in Law. Richard is a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania and works in the Chambersburg office. He brings 17 years of banking experience in addition to his public accounting background. He is a 2024 graduate of Leadership Franklin County. Outside of work, Richard serves as a Board Member and Treasurer of the Cumberland Valley School of Music. He also enjoys playing the drums and visiting local dirt tracks with friends.
Sean Torrey, MPAcc, promoted to Supervisor: Sean specializes in nonprofit and low-income housing audits, including yellow book and single audits. A member of the firm’s Audit Efficiency Task Force, the group works to find efficiencies that benefit the firm’s Assurance & Advisory service line. Sean holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) from Penn State University. Prior to his education, Sean served in the U.S. Air Force for over two years and gained entrepreneurial experience by operating his own small publishing company. He joined SEK in 2022 and works in the Camp Hill office. Outside of work, Sean enjoys painting, reading, playing chess, and spending time with his son.
Margaret Warren, CPA, MAcc, MBA, promoted to Supervisor: Marley delivers audit services for nonprofits and governments, focusing on low-income housing and healthcare. She works on all stages of the audit process and enjoys mentoring interns and new staff on their first engagements. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She holds a Master of Accountancy (MAcc), Master in Business Administration and is pursuing a PhD in Accounting. A Certified Public Accountant in Arkansas, Marley joined SEK in 2022 and is based in the Camp Hill office. She is a member of the firm's Assurance & Advisory Task Force within the SEK University program. Before joining SEK, Marley spent four years teaching accounting courses. Outside of work, she is Treasurer of Little Theater in Mechanicsburg and a member of the Financial Review Committee for Camp Hill Presbyterian Church. She enjoys playing board games, cheering for the Green Bay Packers, and performing with her improv and sketch comedy teams.
Promoted to Senior Associate:
Kyle Hillhouse, MAcc, promoted to Senior Associate: Kyle provides tax and accounting services for individual and closely held business clients and actively contributes to the State & Local Tax (SALT) department. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Accounting (MAcc) from York College of Pennsylvania. He joined SEK in 2023 and works in the firm’s York office. Outside of work, Kyle enjoys spending time outdoors, visiting amusement parks, and attending local dirt track races.
Grace Kyle, MBA, promoted to Senior Associate: Grace delivers audit services for governments and nonprofits, primarily focusing on small to medium-sized townships, larger boroughs, school districts, and conservation districts. She works on audit engagements from the initial planning stages to financial statement preparation and assists with grant compliance. Grace holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Shippensburg University. She is a Betta Gamma Sigma, AACSB International Business Honors Society member. Grace joined SEK’s Chambersburg office in 2023. Outside of work, she enjoys visiting parks with her dog, Oakley, working on puzzles, and going to the gym.
Sierra Overmoyer, CPA, promoted to Senior Associate: Sierra focuses on preparing closely held business and individual tax returns and assists with bookkeeping. She also prepares partnership and S-corporation returns, compilations, and reviews. She graduated summa cum laude from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance. Sierra is a Betta Gamma Sigma, AACSB International Business Honor Society member, and a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania. After three tax season internships, she joined the firm’s Carlisle office in 2023. Outside of work, Sierra enjoys reading, small business shopping, and exploring the local area with her husband.
Alaina Reaver, MAcc, promoted to Senior Associate: Alaina focuses on preparing individual and business tax returns, assisting with tax projections and notices, and QuickBooks bookkeeping. She works with business partnerships, S-corporations, C-corporations, and individual clients. Alaina earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Accounting (MAcc) from York College of Pennsylvania. Based in the Hanover office, Alaina joined SEK in 2023. Outside of work, she enjoys bartending, shopping, working out, and spending time with friends and family.
Marketing Promotion:
Kirsten Stanley promoted to Senior Marketing Specialist: With nine years of experience, Kirsten creates marketing collateral, manages social media, and coordinates seminars and events, fostering a unified culture at SEK. She earned a Bachelor of Humanities in Communications from Penn State University, a Fundamentals of Digital Marketing certification, and a Poynter ACES Certificate in Editing. She joined SEK in 2018 and is based in York. Kirsten is a member of Allinial Global’s Digital Marketers Committee, the Association for Accounting Marketing, and serves as a Campaign Champion for the United Way of York County. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, baking, traveling, attending sporting events (especially the Pittsburgh Penguins and Penn State football), and playing video games.
