SEK Announces Manager Promotions

The Members of SEK are pleased to announce the following Manager promotions effective January 1, 2021:

Teena R. Curnow promoted to Manager: With more than 16 years of experience, Teena has dedicated her career to the local governmental industry and specializes in that area. In addition to managing 25 audits each year, she is an instructor of the firm’s in-house training programs on governmental accounting and a presenter at SEK’s annual governmental seminar. She graduated from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Teena joined SEK in 2004 and is based in the firm’s York, PA office. She was recently notified that she passed all four parts of the CPA exam and is in the process of applying for her license.

Kelly A. Garbinski, CPA promoted to Manager: Kelly has over 12 years of experience and specializes in nonprofit taxation and individual taxation for sole proprietorships, single-member LLCs, farms, rentals, and investment income. Kelly also works on audits for governmental and nonprofit clients. She graduated cum laude from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She joined SEK in 2012 and is based in the firm’s Hagerstown, MD office. Outside of the office, Kelly is involved in leading her church’s youth group.

Hillary M. Grove, CPA promoted to Manager: With more than nine years of experience, Hillary provides tax and accounting services to individuals and closely held businesses ranging in size from small businesses to multi-state companies. Her specializations include tax preparation, general business consulting, financial statement preparation, and tax planning. She also assists with payroll and on-site audits. Hillary graduated magna cum laude from Salisbury University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a minor in Accounting. She joined SEK in December 2017 and is based in the firm’s Hagerstown, MD office. Outside of the office, Hillary volunteers as a coach for North Hagerstown High School Girls Soccer and Hagerstown Soccer Club.
