Recent News & Blog / SEK Accountant Bonnie Aleshire Has Passed Away
June 10, 2024
With great sadness, SEK, CPAs & Advisors announces the passing of our colleague and friend Bonnie Aleshire. Bonnie was a Support Accountant Supervisor in the Chambersburg office, working with clients and team members throughout the firm. She passed on June 8, 2024.
Bonnie joined SEK in 2004, bringing with her over 15 years of private accounting, office management, and administration experience. Her training and experience in both the public and private sectors, combined with her passion for accounting, allowed her to assist clients in their day-to-day operations and manage their bookkeeping services. She worked closely with small businesses and individuals, providing bookkeeping services and consulting; sales and use tax filings; payroll and payroll tax services; QuickBooks consulting, setup, and training; and governmental annual reporting and filing assistance. Bonnie served as the Outsourced Treasurer/CFO for two Boroughs, giving her a unique understanding into how municipalities operate. As a QuickBooks expert, Bonnie developed and led highly regarded QuickBooks User Group sessions throughout the year, both in-person and virtually. She was dedicated to sharing her knowledge and educating others.
Bonnie was not only a special team member, but a special person. She found great joy in serving others and witnessing them enjoy each other's company through fun and conversation. Whether it was leading the Chambersburg office’s Fun Committee, sharing fresh produce from her garden, supporting others in their times of struggle, or spreading kindness in countless ways, Bonnie found fulfillment in making others happy and being there for them. She will be deeply missed, and our thoughts are with her family during this difficult time.
In May, the SEK Team Bon Bon Beauties successfully raised over $3,000 for Relay For Life of Franklin & Fulton Counties. SEK was a proud event sponsor and the team showed support by walking together. Contributions can continue to be made throughout the summer: https://secure.acsevents.org/site/STR?fr_id=107443&pg=team&team_id=2716091
